This official's Degen with a (fire-gilded) brass hilt and inlaid mother-of-pearl grip probably dates from the late 19th century. 
Etching can be seen on the triangular hollow-ground blade. The blade bears the Makersmark 'AO'.
The engraving plate is decorated with mythological depictions.
