The object is an ornately crafted flintlock long gun from the William Keith Neal collection. The firearm features a fully stocked, richly figured wooden stock with delicate carved decoration and a long metal barrel secured by several barrel bands, with a ramrod housed beneath. The side-mounted flintlock mechanism is elaborately ornamented with floral relief decoration and complemented by a decorative curved brass trigger guard and additional engraved fittings.
