Bronze sculpture titled “La Source” with a medal patina, signed by Lucie Signoret-Ledieu. The work depicts the goddess Diana, goddess of the hunt, seated on a rock from which a spring flows to the left. With her right hand, she drinks from a shell, while her other hand holds her bow and a quiver filled with arrows, suspended by a strap. Her antique-style tunic, fastened at the shoulder with a round brooch, reveals one breast. She wears her hair in a bun and a headband adorned with a crescent moon, her principal attribute.
The terrace is decorated with leaves and signed “Mme Signoret-Le Dieu.” The circular, stepped base bears a cartouche inscribed “La Source, awarded at the Salon by Mme Signoret-Ledieu.” The rotating composition lends the figure a refined and elegant presence.
