German Percussion Rifle, First Half of the 19th Century

This German percussion rifle from the first half of the 19th century features a finely carved butt and stock, and an octagonal Damascus barrel inscribed "F. Berger in Coethen." The lock is adorned with arabesque engravings, and the cock is shaped as a mythical creature. Though the feather is missing, the piece remains an outstanding example of craftsmanship.
